At the very beginning of summer break, Mami had a week off and we were able to enjoy Stone Mountain visits, the park and plenty of playdates with my friends. That week seemed shorter than any week during the year. Before I knew it, Mami was setting alarms for wake up time, Papi was packing my camp bag and I was rushed to sleep as early as 7:45. For those that don't know, Mami teaches Summer School as well and although she's far along with my baby sibling, this summer was no different. For the first 4 weeks, I attended Camp Wildcats at Mami's school, The Westminster School. The first week was rough for me, as I had to get used to new teachers and new friends but most of all, NO NAPS. As soon as I jumped in the car in the afternoon, I was knocked out.
For the remaining two weeks, I attended dance camp where I learned ballet, hip hop, modern and break dancing. My favorite sessions were the ballet and the break dancing ones.
Not even 24 hours after my last dance class and Mami's last day of Summer School, we packed up the car and caravaned with the Leftwich's down to Florida. The week was spent visiting Magic Kingdom (yes, again),experiencing Legoland, enjoying the pool and beaches and seeing the July 19 launch at Kennedy Space Center. However, we viewed the launch from a bridge not too far. Above all, the best thing that happened while in Florida was losing my first tooth. If you tend to read my cousin Julian's blog, you'll remember that he lost his first tooth at Magic Kingdom last summer. I was 12 hours short of having it fall out at Magic Kingdom. It fell out the morning after during breakfast. That night the tooth fairy came and left me $3.00!
I have one more week until school begins and I'm sure it will be spent gathering my uniforms, buying school supplies and hopefully a little more fun.
Cheers to a great Summer.

Hello "Em"
I have so much enjoyed reading your blog and looking at your pictures but the conversations have "cracked" me up. Years ago there was a show on TV, Children say the darndest things, and you would have been a special guest star. You are growing up to be such a big girl and so beautiful. I am sure you are excited about the upcoming birth of your new sibling. Grandmommie misses you and look forward to our next face time talk. Love ya!
