Getting the room ready

We've started working on the nursery these last couple of weeks. About two weeks ago we cleared out the room because it was our guest room. Here are two pictures of the "before":

Then, we started painting and putting up the molding, etc. The colors we chose were yellow and green. We painted green on bottom and yellow on top separated by a white molding. We even got the carpet changed upstairs and in all bedrooms because Daddy Dionisio said, "My baby is not going to be crawling around on that dirty carpet." The new carpet was put in on Sunday and we started building the baby furniture (gift from the abuelitos Bonilla). The furniture is very nice...we LOVE it. We will post pictures of the complete "after" when we finish.

Daddy Dionisio priming the walls.

The carpet just got put in and D couldn't wait to open the baby furniture and put it together. By the way, it's around 9:30 pm on Sunday (he had to work the next day) and he still wanted to start on the furniture.

Here I am painting the base boards (before the carpet was put in). D wants everything nice and crisp.

The dresser/changing table and the rocker from IKEA. (the rocker was a gift from abuelita Cannava)

The crib is finally done.

What a transformation. I love it. Now you know the sign of a great father when he spends Father's Day working for his child.

Dionisio we are so very proud of you and know you will be a wonderful father.

What wonderful gifts and the colors remind me of Colby's nursery in Fayetteville, NC.
