La Escuelita

On Tuesday night, mami was really in a hurry to get me to bed but I just wasn't sleepy. And usually, mami and daddy just let me fall asleep whenever I want but not too late. That is why I was so confused about the rush to put me to bed. About 8 hours later, I realized why. Mami woke me up at 6 am, 3+ hours earlier than I usually wake up. I didn't know what was going on. First it was buenos días, then it was ¿quieres usar el potty?, then lávate las manos and it kept going and going. I just wanted to say "WHAT IS GOING ON". But we all know I can't say that yet. So mami went on to brush my teeth, dress me and comb my hair. Daddy was downstairs letting Chomba out. Then I heard the blender...."oooh my smoothie". I know the sound of that blender and what it's making. "SMOOTHIE!" I kept screaming, "SMOOTHIE". But mami ignored me and put on my jacket and packed me in Daddy's truck. "SMOOTHIE!" I could see my smoothie cup but daddy nor mami would give it to me. What were they waiting for? After a short 10 minute drive, mami got me out and Daddy took pictures of us. And all I kept thinking was "What in the world is going on?" The three of us walked in Discovery Point and after a couple minutes of talking to a lady I didn't know and information I didn't understand, mami and daddy took me to a room with someone they called my teacher, Miss Shawntay. Miss Shawtany sat me down and gave me breakfast and finally, my smoothie. Mami kept looking back as she left and she had a sad look on her face. "WHAT IS GOING ON!?!" I finally figured it out after about 4 hours later when mami and daddy hadn't come back yet. Then later on around 4pm, I heard a familiar voice say, "Emi." It was daddy! I was so happy I started to cry as I ran to him. My teacher told daddy that I behaved so well. I never cried and I never said a word; I'm still getting to know everyone before I let my "real" self out. By the time I got home, I was so tired but Daddy kept telling me that I couldn't fall asleep until mami got home after her game. When I finally saw mami, I was so happy but still sleepy. I only stayed up 45 minutes with her and then I couldn't take it anymore. I know mami wanted to spend more time with me but I was so tired. Her soccer season will be over in 3 weeks and she will be the one picking me up. This morning, same thing happened: early wake up and off to my escuelita.
